nice.. but does this mean the Caps will never get their nice little soccer specific stadium with grass? Cuz they were fighting to get that beautiful stadium built but faced opposition from various people and groups. I'd hate to see them stuck in this field turf stadium forever.
Not even close to Giants Stadium, which was an 80,000 seat facility. BC Place is 50k for CFL, and around 20k for MLS.
Kind of NASL retro.
A couple of years ago, I went to the Whitecaps little high school stadium as a Timbers supporter, and there was this cheesy little USA 94' soundtrack they piped through tiny megaphone like speakers. This was 2008-9. Swangard I think, middle of nowhere.
This is a major upgrade compared to 2 years ago. I'd like to check this out.

Empire Fields looked nice in a low key kind of way, and seemed like it had some good atmosphere to it. It's a bummer that's it's only a temporary stadium.
Wow, that's almost as nice as Dynamo Park will be. Almost.
FYI - They actually installing Polytan Turf and not Field Turf.
