Jon Conway is the Dream Killer
While in the net last night for Toronto FC, Jon Conway pulled off a rare "triple denial": he denied RSL a chance to win the game in stoppage time, denied himself a chance to live on in soccer blooper reels for all eternity and he denied us all the opportunity to heckle him mercilessly for making such Benny Hill-ass play. Oh what could have been.

Actually, that's also bad refereeing. The ball was played directly to him from a throw-in by a teammate, and just because Conway failed miserably at kicking the ball doesn't mean he can magically use his hands to make that save. Should have been an indirect free kick for RSL on the 6 yard line closest to where the infringement occurred. which very very likely would have led to a goal. or at least more comedy.
That's interesting. Technically, since no on else touched it, you are correct; but I think common sense allows the referee to see that the slice towards Conway's own goal was unintentional. The pass back rule is primarily there to avoid time wasting, I don't have any problem with this not being called (as a neutral observer).
Damn Jon Conway, how is the MLS supposed to make it on sportscenter if we don't look like idiots. Everyone knows ESPN will only cover Beckham, bicycle kicks and bloopers. Why does Conway hate America?
@paulsepp
that should be the name of a facebook group.
