Here's a Hater Even Bigger Than You, Philadelphia

The French

"It does not please me. I do not want to be difficult, but left to take my family away, I'd rather do it in a beautiful city. Otherwise, I will put an end to my career."

--aging Frenchman and Civic Aesthetics Critic Robert Pires on the prospect of playing Philadelphia .

I'm from NY and it's fun to hate on Philly Fans - but Philly is a super place.

Screw him!

And, honestly, how many people would come to games to watch him? Can't we give up the 'we need a european to prove our worth' mentality and spend that DP coin on ..say Clint Dempsey or similar?

He should come to the quakes, he could live in SF. It doesn't get much prettier than that.

What's bizarre is that Philadelphia is a city with a lot of French influence, both historically and in terms of the large number of French companies with US headquarters in the area. F him!
