Today in Stadium POrn, Part Two: Kansas City

KCOutside

Massive H/T to Down the Byline for pointing out that Kansas City's 2010 Media Guide has the best renderings we've seen so far of the Wizards currently under construction Palace on the Plains™. I've had the media guide on my desk for weeks now and that detail just sailed right past me. My apologies for slipping, please forgive me.

The image below is a good look at the inside of the venue which seems to be a fairly asymmetrical affair when it comes to the design. With sloping roof and odd-sized stands it's definitely a unique look and a welcome break from the Rossetti-made norm.

it is interesting there are no seats behind the other goal (which is not shown in the renderings.) I wonder if this is due to space limitations in the plot of land for planning for future expansion...

I think the stands missing from behind the goal is due to its proximity to the road. No room to put them.

The roof form intrigues me a bit. Definitely different. Hope it turns out well.

The end you are speaking of is the Supporters section- it is more of a dugout with like 15 rows or something the length of the endline and extremely close to the field with a very low roof

@Morry, so in the first picture that SF posted there is a small seating section for The Cauldron on the side closest to us (the side by the road)?

That is correct- the section is very shallow but does exist and it is for the supporters- check this out http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1210908
