Everyone Hates America, Even EA Sports

We're less than 72 hours away from the U.S.-Mexico match at The Azteca and this is what EA decides to upload on Youtube?! A new clip from the as-yet unreleased FIFA10 with a verde-clad Blanco dropping his signature move and then scoring on our Timmy?! Ouch.

Either they've made a choice as to who they're siding with on Wednesday or they possess a significant lack of knowledge/sensitivity when it comes to soccer culture; how do you think the English market would react to a similar promo that featured Michael Ballack finishing off England just before they met in a crucial Euro qualifier? I'm sure it would go over about as well as an EMF stadium tour.

It's late and I have had an awful day so I acknowledge that I may be over-reacting. Still, I think I may have to start playing ProEvo instead in protest.

Ouch indeed. They probably don't hate America but it can;t be said that the timing is super-poor.

Or maybe they are just pinning their sales hopes in North America on Mexican gamers.

I felt the same way at first, then i watched it again and it makes more sense. They show four goals total, 2 for US and 2 for Mexico. Its no coincidence that they left it at a draw in order to make everyone happy. EA isnt dumb enough to piss off its Mexican or American audience

i'll sure as hell be pissed if they again rate the use a full star below Mexico (we were 3 1/2, they were 4 1/2 in 09).

It's pretty clear, based on our best players, that we're pretty damn close in rankings. The number of teams with inferior talent that have 4 stars in 09 was quite shocking, and it'd better not happen again.

I agree, they are a friggin US company! Isn't that the adidas confederations cup ball?? Now we all know how Blanco and mexico did there right? They can score on EA all they want, I prefer our goals to actually come at the Azteca!!

The score will be 2-1 USA with none of that Blanco crap.

And they put Kljestan on the cover. Kljestan!? WTF!? EA obviously hasn't be paying attention the last, oh, 6 months or so.

Even better, in the full preview, they have Kljestan score both the US goals. Guy isn't on the roster.
