This Just In: SF Joining His Brothers in Unemployment

I had an absolutely amazing Father's Day weekend but the week after...not so much. Your boy SF has just become the latest, most digitally-astute victim of the recession and got laid off from eMpTyVee today. If anyone knows of any opportunities in music, digital media, marketing, or promotion holler at me at TheOffsideRules[at]gmail[dot]com.

Damn. Good Luck with the search. I got the news the same way, after a nice Thanksgiving weekend, but landed something better afterwards. Hope for the same for you.

Sorry to hear it man. Happened to me though, and I've survived. Upside is you get to go out there and network a bunch (rd: meet people, have drinks, talk ish, have more drinks).

music, digital media, marketing, or promotion? sounds like you'd be a perfect managing director of the red bulls!

couldnt hurt, right?

Man, sorry to hear that, best of luck in your search...

Sorry about that Shawn. FCD or Red Bull could use somebody like you for marketing or promotions. Not to be a punk, but at least you can hit up the Showdown in Chinatown and not worry about missing work. Good luck with the job search!

MTV (digital, production etc) has always been a great place to get laid off from.

do what i did: go West!

ya i got laid off on my birthday end of may.

here's a good media jobs site:

And Seth Godin's advice while you wait:

One thing I'm doing is "holding out for better." I didn't like my last job (financial analyst), so I'm searching for things I like. Sure, it will take longer, but i won't be depressed while doing it.

buena suerte!

Condolences!

Apparently, MTV is no kind of place for anyone with a working knowledge of good music.

Welcome to the world of funemployment, where you can watch midweek/midday soccer when it's on. Try to stretch your money through the World Cup. Seriously, though, best of luck and circumstance to you.
