The Things People Will Do For a Good Education

I don't know anything about goal keeping and I know even less about this Brazilian kid called Vinicius. So I can't tell you if he is really any good and if this video he uploaded will help him achieve his goal of playing collegiate soccer in the U.S.* If he can't get a gig though perhaps someone will hire the guy who out together the video for him because it's edited much better than most of the content produced by professional teams in this country.

*Why a Brazilian would have a goal of playing American collegiate soccer is beyond me and possibly one of the most bizarre things I have ever heard of (and I have been to a Neurosis concert). And doesn't he know that goalies are the one position we don't need to outsource?

Just because he's Brazilian doesn't mean he's an automatic prodigy. He looks like one of those rich kids from the Brazilian suburbs trying to get into an American college. It's become quite popular to put out a video together with the application.

The majority of Brazilian superstars come from the 'favelas' or some poor background. This guy don't look like it.

Looks average at best. No ups and he does everything they rehearsed. There are a million GK's like this in America. He looks like he would fold under pressure from a cross.

What the first guy said...i completely agree, these brasilian rich boys who get into the US via marriage of their parents, and they think theyre all that and forget their culture once they arrive. recruit from the non-rich and spoiled, thats where the majority of the talent is at.

Sounds like some bloggers might need a vacation to Brazil to chill out a little bit.

So you don't think the guy playing kick ball with his friend in the backyard is the best goal keeper in the world. Really, thanks.

Funny video enjoyed it thanks.

Brazilian vacation? Sure sign me up. And of course not all Brazilian's are prodigies...remember Alvaro "The Buffalo" Pires in LA last year?

Can't jump. No good on crosses. Unsure with angles. Hands are okay, though that might just be the editing.

i coach at a D1 college and we usually receive 3 or 4 of these types of videos per week from youtube from aspiring players. the typical MO is subpar ability with techno music from the latin american players and outdated 50 cent/rap music from the african player. the most impressive thing about the the african videos are the conditions these kids actulally play in - quite moving. in the end these kids usually are not good enough to warrant the work involved with bringing one of them in just to stay you have a player from "x" country.
