They had a press conference in Ottawa today. They also opened a website. Doesn't that stadium look exactly like the old mock-ups of the stadium in Harrison when the Metrostars 1st floated the idea?
I just don't see it happening. I can see Montreal getting a team, I'd be shocked if they weren't in MLS in 7 years. But Ottawa?? I don't see it. St. Louis is going to get a team, and MLS seems very intent on putting a second team in New York. That's 19 teams by then. I can't see them expanding beyond 20. So that leaves one more team, and I don't see it being Ottawa. Maybe Portland, maybe maybe Vancouver (I doubt it'll be there will be three Canadian teams when its all said and done) or a team in the South. I just don't see Ottawa.
QUESTION - Would you put your faith (and $$) with an organization that takes an old MetroStars rendering (a piece of shite rossetti recycled design at that)and puts new logos on it, thinking no one will notice, and calls it start of the art...as capable of making soccer work in a Ottawa?
ANSWER - Not in this friggin lifetime. Or how about wait until we expand to 26 teams...or first get some people in your tiny metro...in other words...take off, eh. We have much better choices than this thank you.

not sure if that is a soccer stadium or a concert venue with those floodlights outside and that monsterous stage dominating one end.
NO F*CKIG WAY. NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!
There are cities with actual existing clubs that want to make the jump. Ottowa couldnt' handle an A-league team years ago.
LOL is that Toyota Park?? Real original. The bid is a joke anyway so real MLS aspiring cities needn't be worried.
they got no chance
