It's Raining, So I'm Going to the Movies Tonight.
I know the reviews have been lukewarm but I think I'll give Miracle at St. Anna shot anyway. It's got a lot of the things I like in a film: it's long (2hrs 45mns), Mediterranean women, a pinch of spooky business, early-80's New York and since it's in WWII, (I assume) some dead Nazi's.

Choke opens tonight. That's what I'm gonna go see. The book was awesome.
Compare the two:
Mirace at St. Anna: WWII movie; no doubt riddled with racial issues.
Choke: a movie about a sex addict who feigns choking at restaraunts so that people will give him the heimlich, think they've saved him, and send him money on that date for years to come.
Still going with Choke.
Why do they send him money? Shouldn't he be sending them money for saving his bacon?
They send him money because after saving him, each rescuer considers him/herself as a sort of parental figure to the choker.
They send money on the anniversary of the day they saved him, because in the rescuers mind it's the chokers 'new birthday'. He's pulled this trick so much over the years that he has checks coming in every day from people who thinks they saved his life.
I know it sounds weird, but this is the guy who wrote Fight Club, and some of his other books get even weirder. They're great.

i should clarify, he fakes the whole choking scene every time. It's just a trick to get people to think that they've saved his life - and hence send money once a year.

True and I will DVR it. The wife and child are away this evening so if I don't go to the cinema tonight, I won't go until Christmas.

Hmm, looks like a remake of the Simpson's Flying Hell Fish.
Dead Nazi's are cool. When ever my wife bitches about me playing Call of Duty and not being productive, all I can say is
"I'm killing Nazis, how is that NOT productive?"
Looks good.
