What? You thought I forgot there was a little three decade-long grudge match tonight? Blogger please. I will not rest until I get a call from FSC's Mitch Peacock himself saying "you can stop now, we really don't have the bandwidth for an audience this size." Until then, I'm going to keep reminding you to do whatever you have to do to watch the game on FSC at 11pmEST.
For those of you watching at home, here's the word out of Portland today to help you put in in perspective. And for you Timbers fans in attendance I would like to state for the record that I would never encourage a pitch invasion. All I'm saying is that they really knew how to bum rush the show back in the day. But it was the 70's so everyone was probably completely out of their tree because it was "Cocaine Raining from the Rafters Night."

Fvck Seattle.
Rose City Til I Die.
Great blog posts all week.
People in Portland are more than a little excited about this one. Should be a memorable night with a great crowd. And after tonight, only 2+ years to wait until we rekindle the rivalry with the urethra-stretchers in MLS.
I hope you and Portland compatriots aren't too upset with the loss tonight.
As usual, Portland is just a few steps behind big brother up here to the north.
Happy hour here I come.
Don't you have some orifices to go sound?
hey TOR, your beloved garbage timbers are down at halftime and down to 10 men. MLS to PDX? how about PDL...oh wait...they lost to Hollywood United
sounders win 1-0 yay :D
here's to portland getting the next MLS franchise so us northwesterners can continue this great rivalry.
also, sf, the goalscorer for the sounders, le toux, is the only signed player so far for sounders fc next year. so you'll certainly be seeing him a bit more often next season.
Yea PDX went down, but I'll give the fans 2 points for style. They show up. They sing. There are more than 6 of them.
I think any neutral fan will tell you that's definitely more than what can be said for Seattle's USL fans. The enthusiasm that is being shown for the upcoming MLS team is nothing short of fantastic, but it seems a little bandwagonesque that the city has not embraced the USL guys who have been working their butts off for years and the tangible/existant team that the Hanauers have dedicated themselves too.
And LeToux is definitely good. I'd like to see how he does in MLS.
Tough loss, tough to take a loss like that, but these are the times that test true supporters and we're still 'Rose City 'till We Die'!
Thanks for all the love, SF, hope to see you at a game one of these days!
And, hey, at least we're not the doughnut-stuffed mouthbreathers from Seattle, so we have that going for us, too!

My pleasure. I soooo need to get up that way sometime. As for last night's game, the ref (who seemed to have had a few donuts himself) killed it when he issued the red card.
hands down, the worst ref performance ever. would the game have been different with 11 v 11? Maybe, who knows? When the refs have to leave escorted by security through a different tunnel, their obviously are some problems.
seriously though, seattle talking trash is like a joke. go back to your busch light starbucks sipping traffic jammed streets you trash.
it's real easy to talk trash when you are anonymous. typically seattle panty waste.
Wow lots of angry ignorance from portland fans and portland fan lovers. I certainly love the support they get but damn man sometimes going overboard is overkill.

Nothing overboard about giving props to positivity. I would much rather spend my time in praise of something quality going on in American soccer than blogging about everything that is wrong with soccer in the US. Their is enough of that going around.
as i mentioned in your PDX post the day before this one, i think the current sounders have been overshadowed but next year's MLS team. with 2 championships in the past 3 years, the team was finally becoming noticed among casual seattle sports fans, but the announcement of the MLS franchise has really made a lot of people forget that soccer is being played RIGHT NOW in the emerald city.
it's really a shame since this team has really come together and achieved some great things. but keep an eye on the sounders in the US open cup, they've made the semis for the second consecutive year in a row, already beating 2 MLS sides.
that's my two cents.
and as much as i hate portland, i really would LOVE to see them get the next MLS franchise. this is truly the greatest rivalry in american club soccer, and it deserves to be played out at this country's highest level. timber's fans deserve an MLS team for their loyalty and unwavering support.
up the sounders!
