I Think I'm the Kid With the Nice Guitar and No Chops

Street

I don't know where you live, but in the part of New Jersey in which I reside there is plenty of beach, and asphalt but not a lot open green space close by. I'm not saying it's Rockaway, Queens by any stretch but finding a grass field for a kick-around isn't always an easy option. Which is fine since you can just buy a bunch of stuff for your street game instead of waiting for Bono, Beckham or some other celebrity to come and save you.

Now you don't need anything other than a ball to play the game, and that's part of the beauty. But I also don't need a BBQ grill the size of a SmartCar to cook but I bought one anyway. I got a pair of bold-assed yellow Nike Air Zoom Control 2's , an inexpensive Mercurial ball and a pair of Pugg pop-up goals from Soccerpro.com and have turned my street --and driveway-- into my own personal Stade Du SF.

The shoes give you a great touch and flat-surface traction. They also look good with denim and are a bold alternative to a beat up pair of the classic Adidas Samba's if you fancy rocking them like regular, everyday kicks. And I love the Pugg's as they are A) idiot-proof and B) nothing beats the sound of hitting the back of the net...even if it isn't regulation size. My only complaint is that they don't come with sandbags or any sort of weights (although there are built-in pegs for grass use).

What I now need is a bullhorn to harass my boys from the sidelines with when I'm not playing. And since Stade Du SF is 100% portable, keep an eye out for it in lot 16A at Giants Stadium if you fancy a run out. I'll even let your side win. Not because I'm nice but because I'm usually the weakest link on any team.

bring Stade Du SF with you if you come up to Foxboro for a RB-Revs match and you will have yourself a game, sir.
I'll look forward to pitting my beat up sambas against your fancy banana shoes on the Gillette Stadium blacktop.

What no Calle clothes or ball for play?:

www.callesoccer.com/

Found that when looking up some street soccer stuff.

I need to start remembering to through some shoes and a change of clothes in the truck. Last show and this one when things got slows I went out and grabbed the ever present ball to start kicking around the stage (sound stages by the way make great indoor soccer/football fields).

Now I know what goals to get as well. I will just swipe some sandbags from the grip dept.

Nice win tonight!!! JPA lives!

The Pugg goals are tight. We have the smallest ones, and rock a futsal ball on the back patio, which is just big enough for a decent 3 v 3 barefoot game.

The Puggs are sweet for the beach, tailgates, and barbecues everywhere.

I just bought some Adidas Acuna indoor shoes, to replace my "beat up" Sambas...
