Video: Chicago Fire Does Dixie
Let's talk sausages. Let's talk Old Style. Let's talk Jenny McCarthy. Let's talk Luis Arroyave (because he cave me a shout out today). Let's talk Section 8. Let's talk Chicago!
The Red Card had a link to this absolutely AMAZING video from Chicago's trip to Mississippi earlier this year that irrefutably proves the existence of time machines. How so? Watch it and you'll notice obviously Reagan-era production and soundtrack which in itself is nothing special. But then you look closely you notice that all the players are from the 2008 Fire lineup, which is completely creepy. Seriously, it's some Unsolved Mysteries type of shit.
And I'm sorry to get all NPR on everyone, but I have to point out how borderline-Klanish it is for them to bring out a flag with the stars and bars on it before the game. Seriously that is some Dixie shit right there (and one of the reason's I left the South). The crazy thing about Confederates is that they are sometimes a) the most blindly patriotic people in existence, yet never seem to acknowledge the Confederacy as traitors and b) no one seems to care that they lost. America truly is a special place.

The beginning looks and sounds like some 80s porn flick...
That flag is the MS state flag (the one used by the color guard in the video), which has the Confederate battle flag in the upper corner, not a borderline klan presentation.
Man TOR, you make us who live outside the south look dumber than the "confederates" you're trying to insult. Obviously our schools up north don't do a good job teaching our kids about our 50 states.

I know that it's a MS flag, which makes it all the more messed up. I was born in Texas and Louisiana raised...no northern schools for me.
And pretty much anything with a confederate flag looks Klanish to me. Sorry, I'm scarred from my antebellum youth.
SF, you are right on the money about this. I'm here in Houston, just glad that the stars and bars handkerchief is being seen less and less, as far as I can tell. The less the better.
Southern pride doesn't alway equal racism. Dirty South rappers are using the Stars and Bars too. Love your blog but don't get worked up on that.
