Goal.com did this bit on the best places in America to watch a soccer game. Now I'm not trying to throw rocks at their list, but I would be remiss if I didn't speak on behalf of two glaring, super massive black holes. 1st and foremost the North End of Portland's PGE Park simply has to make the cut. This is where USL 1's best & boldest fans do their thing; on it's worst day it still makes Blackbaud Stadium --which made the list-- look as exciting as a khaki-wearers convention.
Also, where is the Home Depot Center? Pizza Hut Park makes the list but not the HDC? Bull. Shit. You may not agree with me now but wait until Saturday's SuperClasico and you'll see beef and intra-city rivialry like no other. And that is something no other ground in the country can claim.

Seriously. What the hell were those guys thinking? Clearly, no one from goal.com has ever been to Portland to watch a soccer game, because you can't go to a Timbers match and not come away with total exuberance from watching the team AND the Timbers Army. I notice they were also remiss in neglecting to mention the University of Portland's Harry A. Merlo field, which has got to be the top college soccer venue in the country, and has also hosted a slew of US National Teams, as well as a few other international sides. The women's team has been among the leaders in national attendance for like 12 years running, or something like that. Idiots.
There are better bars in San Diego to watch soccer than the abyss, otherwise known as Giant's Stadium. Red Bull Park can't open soon enough.
Not a fan of the list but I love that you snuck in the "super massive black hole" phrase. I'm all about pushing Muse subliminally so bravo sir.
Pizza Hut Park?? Seriously, watching the game tonight-I am embarrassed for the person who made that list and for Dallas fans. You have a talented team and a nice stadium and you can't show up for a nationally televised game?
The world will soon realize what we in KC already know - the Cauldron is the best place to watch a game! You've gotta invade the bloody pitch to get closer than we are! Check it out,goal.com, and update your foolish selections.
El Batallon and the Texian Army might have something to say about this. Los Nortenos regularly make Robertson Stadium one of the more feared destinations in the league.
Though I would love to go see that ground in NYC with the pickup games all day long.
PHP? You mean Robertson North? Do they still play games there when Dynamo isn't there? Seems like an awful waste of money to me.
I'm an LA fan. That said... BMO field 11th? This list is cracked up for sure. I saw that and immediately said... oh.. a list compiled by idiots. Super duper idiots.
That list should give them the automatic nomination for "absolute crap soccer site of 2008"
Seriously, who wrote that? JohnnyG?
I wonder if the North End got permission from Stone Brewing to use their logo on the flag?
Arrogant Bastard Ale is great stuff.
I'm sure North End loves the promo. They do sell it on tap in the stadium. it's how we roll...
PTFCTILLIDIE.
as far as USL goes, hands down Timbers home games are the best. As far Amerian soccer goes, Timbers games are definitely up there.
These People seriously need to attend a Timbers-Sounders match at PGE park like the one last night. The best day of the week to catch a game is on thirsty thirsdays for $2 beers.
