LA Galaxy have got issues. Salary cap issues to be specific. With El Pescadito, Goldenballs, and Landycakes taking up half of the estimated $2.3 million salary cap, they're going to have to make some American Idol-style eliminations when when they return from their swing through Hawaii & Asia. LA Daily Breeze writer Billy Witz suggests that it's the guys in the middle of the salary pack that will get their walking papers; Chris Klein ($187,250), Abel Xavier ($156,000), Edson Buddle ($150,000), midfielder Peter Vagenas ($131,875) Ante Jazic ($114,000) and maybe even new-boy Greg Vanney ($236,000) who has yet to even suit up for the Gals, who have arrived in Honolulu.
Who do I have my money on? I don't know if it's likely but if I it were me I'd have Edson Buddle out on the first boat back to mainland because he is straight up bunk. I'd also probably use Vagenas or Klein as trade bait. But what do I know...

nail on the head, buddle is bunk. I say they get Vagenas out of there and let kelly gray, kevin harmse, and josh toluca do the middle of the park stuff. but klein i hope they keep. seems like a good locker room guy to have around...and bicycle kicker.
I completely agree. Keep Klein, drop Vagenas and Buddle. That might not be enough to keep the Gals under the cap, though.
Get rid of Buddle? He was the best on the team last year for goals scored compared to minutes played. Vagenas should be the man to go. LAG is loaded with midfielders this season and we are short on forwards (buddle) and short of defenders (xavier, klein).

And yet the galaxy trade Kirk, Generation Adidas player that he is, for the rights to an overpriced defender (Vanney). Not exactly helping the cause.
why is no one talking about pavon? hes making $141,000 and hes the most useless striker. over hyped and over rated and over paid. buddle is much more serviceable even if he makes $150,000.
that said the galaxy have to be one of the worst managed teams in the league when it comes to salaries.
