Frank Yallop is Dunzo in LA.

MLS coaching-round table prognosticators got a two-fer last night when word broke that LA Galaxy gaffer Frank Yallop has left the club and will be heading north to helm the San Jose Earthquakes. It should be noted that Yallop resigned and was not fired. The CBC has the story on Yallop's return to the site of previous glory that many, many, many people predicted. Pretty sweet deal for San Jose (they get an experience coach who has won the MLS Cup before), Yallop (he gets back to the bay), and LA (San Jose bought out Yallops contract).

So now lets start talking replacement. Who in the hell is fit to reign over the Carson & Anshutz Circus? I for one would be shocked if they put an American in that position. Who's qualified for life under that kind of microscope? Maybe if the Bruce leaves New Jersey after this weekend's failure they'd take him but I doubt it.

In the coming days we'll see a litany of names put forth as a replacement by the soccerazzi (if they aren't being mentioned already); all of the usual high-profile suspects will be bandied about like Fabio Capello and Juergen Klinnsmann. Hell I would not be surprised to see the name of freshly sacked Martin Jol in there somewhere. It'll be almost like transfer window silly season rumors but with coaches instead of players.
