Altidore, Adu & Bradley Called Up vs. South Africa

80's Babies image for The Offside Rules

The moment that many US fans have been calling, hoping and begging for has finally arrived. Jozy Altidore -The Boy King of New York & Jersey™ has been called up for the national team. He'll be on the roster when the US journeys to the bottom of the world for the friendly vs. South Africa. Joining him will be fellow young bucks Michael Bradley, Freddy Adu, Benny Feilhaber and MLS Rookie of the Year Maurice Edu -who along with Danny Szetela and Sal Zizzo will heretofore be known as "the 80's Babies ".

I know it’s a long shot but if ANYONE out there is going to be at this game I would absofreakinglutely love a couple of photos from the game. This could very well be Jozy's coronation and we need this moment documented for posterity as hopefully it will be the beginning of the Purple Rain era of US soccer.

Also of note is that Becks has been called up for England's next Euro qualifier. Hopefully he doesn't sprain, break, crack, bruise, or chaff anything.

I'd have gone with "Purple Reign" myself, just to have sort of a double entendre there.v

No crush, just know a winner when I see one. And US soccer (and Red Bull) needs one in the forward position for sure.
