You know what is wierd? Is that I was gonna mention today that I saw a homeless man outside of the Port Authority wearing an Earthquakes shirt and that the irony was as thick as the smell of 40oz that was on him. But it's not as relavant now since one of the worst kept secrets in MLS is now out in the open.
The Earthqaukes 3.0 will play the majority of thier home games at Santa Clara University's Buck Shaw Stadium. If I can't say anything nice then I won't say anything at all. But if this is how it's gonna be I'll be a trooper and have faith that their retrofitting makes it look much better than it does now.

i went to school there and that place is hella small. in fact, the stadium seating is only on ONE side of the field. plus, its curved to the shape of THE BASEBALL FIELD (complete with backstop).

1. Get drunk at a bar close to my house
2. Hop on Caltrains, likely with a "to-go" cup full of alocholic liquid
3. Exit Caltrains and walk one block to Buck Shaw staduim
4. Attend MLS match, proceed to not give a rat's ass about how horrible the place looks, and hopefully eat copious hot dogs
5. Get back on Caltrains and either retire to a bar near my house or go pass out in my bed
You realize that everyone is going to want to go to your house now before the games. Me included (what's your address?)
I'm in Oaktown. If you ever find yourself in the Yay and want to go see SJ vs Anyone, I'll absolutely join you.
you all are such wankers. it will be an awesome venue until we can get our own sss. where would you rather see a match, at a rejuvenated buck shaw or at giants mega stadium? guess which one will be more intimate?
Your plans will only be complete when you add the boombox you're going to take on the training that's bumpin "Waskeburt!"
"Intimately San Jose"... a fragrance and a sports team.
Its true, I did forget to add the boombox portion of the train ride and Watskeburt *is* the perfect song to strike fear into SJ's opponents next year.

What, like it's worse than the Swamp?
I seriously don't think that this was wise for an inaugural season but it doesn't seem like they had much of a choice either.
I can't believe that they are going to go with around 8k seats. The Galaxy return on the Beckham II tour is going to be insane.
I don't understand why they couldn't wait a year or two till they had the damn thing built if stadiums or so scarce in the Bay Area. Whatever.
